Egis is seeking a Principal Rail Systems Engineer in Brisbane to lead the planning, design and delivery of complex rail systems. You will provide senior technical leadership across signalling, train control and telecommunications, ensuring safety, performance and regulatory compliance throughout assets lifecycle.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams, drive system integration, and pursue opportunities with internal and external clients, while upholding engineering excellence and industry

Qualifications

• 12 years’ experience in rail systems delivering major projects.
• Qualifications in Electrical, Systems or Mechatronics engineering.
• CPENG and RPEQ eligibility where applicable.
• Extensive rail signalling, train control and telecoms knowledge.
• Strong leadership for multidisciplinary teams and issue resolution.
• Familiarity with CENELEC, EN50126/8/9 and AS/NZS standards.

Responsabilités

• Provide expert guidance on signalling, control, telecommunications and systems integration.
• Lead requirements, architecture, interface, verification and configuration management.
• Oversee safety assurance and compliance with rail standards.
• Chair reviews and approve engineering deliverables across projects.
• Identify and mitigate technical and operational risks.
• Ensure integration across signalling, rolling stock, electrical and civil domains.
• Develop new business opportunities with clients.
• Coach engineers and drive capability uplift.
• Champion adoption of ETCS, CBTC and digital train control.
