Egis is seeking a Rail Software and Systems Engineer to join the Rail Business Unit in Brisbane. You will design, develop, integrate and validate software and control systems for rail operations, interfacing signalling, software, and safety-critical assurance across the network.

Responsibilities include architecture, requirements, and interface definitions; development and testing of signalling and automation components; system integration in operational environments; safety case contributions

Qualifikationen

• 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role integrating systems within industrial settings (rail/transport/water/oil & gas/process/energy).
• Tertiary qualification in Software/Electrical/Mechatronics/Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• Knowledge of safety-critical lifecycle processes and standards is essential.

Aufgaben

• Develop system architectures, requirements, and interface definitions for rail signalling, control, and operational systems.
• Design, implement, and test software components for signalling, control, monitoring, and automation platforms.
• Integrate and maintain systems in operational environments.
• Contribute to safety cases, hazard analyses, and compliance with EN 50126/8/9, IEC 61508, and local rail frameworks.
• Develop and execute test plans including unit, integration, FAT, SAT, and on-track validation.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and diagnostic tools for predictive maintenance and analytics.
• Collaborate with signalling engineers, software teams, operations, maintainers, and external suppliers.
• Produce technical documentation including requirements, design artefacts and interface control documents.
• Identify opportunities to enhance system reliability, automation, and lifecycle efficiency.
