Job summary

NSW Aboriginal Education Consultative Group Inc is seeking a capable Coordinator to lead the Ngaarr Dhuwi Girls Academy program across Newcastle schools. You will supervise mentors, develop curriculum, and establish strong ties with schools and Aboriginal communities.

The role requires extensive knowledge of NSW Education policies and a commitment to Aboriginal students’ wellbeing, attendance and outcomes. 35 hours weekly fixed-term contract with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity
• Strong knowledge of NSW Department of Education policies
• Experience supervising, supporting and developing staff
• Experience coordinating education or youth programs across multiple locations

Responsibilities

• Lead program delivery across school sites with culturally responsive support
• Develop curriculum and programming that strengthens identity and wellbeing
• Supervise mentors, support recruitment and professional learning
• Monitor attendance, engagement and Year 12 completion
• Build partnerships with principals, communities and service providers
• Ensure compliance with child safety and reporting requirements
