Job summary

Stantec Australia is seeking a Principal Process Engineer for its Energy & Resources practice in Brisbane. You will lead complex mining/process projects, mentor engineers, and drive technical excellence while supporting business development and client relationships.

The role requires senior engineering leadership, deep mineral processing knowledge, and eligibility for RPEQ or AusIMM CP accreditation, with a focus on safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of process engineering experience in mining and resources.
• Strong knowledge of mineral processing: comminution, hydrometallurgical and/or pyrometallurgical processes.
• Proven leadership in process engineering design and project delivery.
• Experience managing projects from studies/feasibility to detailed design and execution.
• Understanding of design standards, risk management, and quality.
• Commitment to mentoring junior engineers; strong proposal and client relation skills.
• Eligible for RPEQ or AusIMM Chartered Professional accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering design and project delivery within mining/resource projects.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical excellence across work streams.
• Support business development activities and cultivate client relationships.
• Ensure compliance with design standards, risk management, and safety.
• Oversee projects from studies through to detailed design and execution.
