HITACHI ENERGY AUSTRALIA PTY LTD is seeking an experienced Lead Project Engineer to oversee complex power generation and transmission projects. You will lead technical design, procurement liaison, and commissioning efforts to ensure delivery within scope and safety compliance.

The role requires 8–10 years in project engineering, strong leadership, and a solid understanding of power systems. Travel to project sites will be required as part of project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 8–10 years in project engineering within power generation, transmission, or distribution.
• Proven leadership experience delivering complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of power systems and grid infrastructure.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Responsabilités

• Lead and manage the technical execution of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and company policies.
• Develop and review engineering designs, specifications, and technical documentation, providing expert guidance and mentorship to project team members.
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal departments (e.g., procurement, manufacturing, quality assurance) and external stakeholders (e.g., clients, contractors, suppliers).
• Conduct technical risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success and minimize potential issues.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively, identifying and addressing any deviations or concerns.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and building strong client relationships.
• Oversee the testing, commissioning, and handover phases of projects, ensuring all systems are fully functional and meet performance requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in engineering processes and project execution methodologies.
• Prepare and present technical reports, project updates, and progress summaries to senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
