Job summary

Hitachi Energy Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Project Engineer to lead technical planning, design, and delivery of complex engineering projects in Lilydale, Victoria. You will manage scope, budgets, timelines, and coordinate with R&D, manufacturing, procurement, and sales to ensure successful execution.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 3–5 years in project engineering, strong problem-solving, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Science or related field.
• 3–5 years in project engineering or similar role in relevant industry.
• PMP or Agile cert is a plus.
• Fluency in English; willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical planning and design phases of projects.
• Manage schedules, resources and budgets, tracking progress.
• Coordinate with R&D, manufacturing, procurement and sales.
• Perform technical reviews, analyses and validations.
• Prepare reports and documentation for stakeholders.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities in processes.
• Resolve technical challenges with domain experts.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and Hitachi policies.
• Support integration and testing of new systems.
• Participate in client meetings representing Hitachi Energy.
