Job summary

Peoplebank is seeking an EL2 Platform Solution Architect for a long-term federal government contract based in ACT. You will lead the architecture, design and implementation of complex platform solutions across cloud, data and enterprise technology domains, ensuring secure, scalable outcomes.

The role requires strong cloud, integration and governance experience with hands-on Azure and AWS, Terraform and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years architecture or senior engineering experience, including 5+ years as a Solution Architect.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure and AWS, including Azure Landing Zones, networking, IAM, security services, monitoring, multi-cloud integration and governance.
• Experience leading architecture for large-scale enterprise platforms, CRM and integration solutions (Salesforce, MuleSoft).
• Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps and automation (Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CI/CD pipelines).
• Experience designing internal developer platforms, reusable engineering patterns, self-service capabilities, Kubernetes and cloud-native services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver secure, scalable and business-aligned solutions meeting architecture, technology and cyber security requirements.
• Develop architecture artefacts, technical designs, standards and reference implementations.
• Collaborate with business, architecture, security and engineering stakeholders to define requirements and deliver practical technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership across cloud platforms, IAM, security, governance and platform engineering practices.
• Drive IaC, automation, DevOps and secure software delivery capabilities.
• Provide technical oversight for complex architectural and delivery issues while managing risks and dependencies.
• Lead technical workshops, design reviews, governance activities and stakeholder engagement forums.
• Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation and direction throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Build and maintain stakeholder relationships and represent the agency in relevant forums.

About the Role: Our Federal Government Client is seeking an EL2 Platform Solution Architect

This is a long‑term contract role with an initial 12-month contract and extension option, located in ACT.

As The Selected Candidate, You Will

• Lead the architecture, design and implementation of complex platform solutions across cloud, integration, data and enterprise technology domains.
• Deliver secure, scalable and business‑aligned solutions aligned with architecture, technology and cyber security requirements.
• Develop architecture artefacts, technical designs, standards, reference implementations, platform guardrails and reusable engineering patterns.
• Collaborate with business, architecture, security and engineering stakeholders to define requirements and deliver practical technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership across cloud platforms, integrations, identity and access management, security, governance and platform engineering practices.
• Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code, automation, DevOps and secure software delivery capabilities.
• Provide technical oversight for complex architectural, operational and delivery issues while managing risks, dependencies and technical debt.
• Lead technical workshops, design reviews, governance activities and stakeholder engagement forums.
• Produce and maintain high‑quality technical documentation and provide technical direction throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and represent the agency in relevant forums as required.

To Be Successful In This Role You Should Have

• Demonstrated 7+ years' architecture or senior engineering experience, including 5+ years as a Solution Architect, delivering complex enterprise‑grade cloud, platform and integration solutions.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Azure and AWS, including Azure Landing Zones, networking, identity and access management, security services, monitoring, multi‑cloud integration and cloud governance.
• Experience leading architecture for large‑scale enterprise platforms, CRM and integration solutions, including Salesforce, MuleSoft and API‑led integration patterns.
• Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps and automation practices, including Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CI/CD pipelines and secure software delivery.
• Experience designing and implementing internal developer platforms, reusable engineering patterns, self‑service capabilities, Kubernetes, container platforms and cloud‑native services.
• Excellent communication, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to facilitate technical governance and resolve complex design and implementation challenges.

It Is Desirable If You Have

• Bachelor of Science, Business Information Technology or equivalent tertiary qualification.
• Industry experience across health, insurance or similarly complex customer‑focused environments.
• TOGAF certification or equivalent architecture qualification, with Azure and/or AWS certifications.
• Previous experience as an Enterprise Architect or Program Lead Architect.
• Experience working within Agile and traditional structured delivery environments.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens and Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance.
