Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a Controls Lead Field Engineer to install, commission and service the full range of hardware and software within our Software & Controls Solutions portfolio across Oil & Gas and Power Generation industries worldwide.

The role may be based anywhere in Australia and will require travel both in-country and offshore as needed. You will lead on-site projects, supervise subcontractors, perform loop checks and commissioning tests, and provide training and technical support

Qualifications

• 4- or 5-year college degree in Electrical / Electronic / Mechanic / IT Engineering, or Technical High School.
• 5+ years related work experience in Oil & Gas and Power Plant industry field activities
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, hands-on approach

Responsibilities

• Install and commission Hardware and software in Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Fertilizers and other process industries
• Troubleshoot existing installations on-site
• Prepare field service jobs and interventions with project managers
• Attend pre-outages meetings with customers
• Provide training to customer employees as needed
• Supervise subcontractors and field activities
• Lead loop checks and commissioning tests
• Support ITO during quotation phase
• Lead continuous improvements and change orders during site execution
• Maintain accurate timesheets and write detailed reports
