Job summary

Dawson Mine is seeking an experienced Mining Superintendent (Load & Haul) to lead the open-cut operation with clear, visible leadership across the Load & Haul team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will ensure safe delivery of the mine plan and develop frontline leaders to align people, equipment and resources for reliable production outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading coal mine workers and supervisors in open-cut operations.
• Must hold Mining Supervisor competency (G1, G8 & G9).
• QLD driver’s license (Open: C Class).
• Trade cert or tertiary degree in Mining Engineering is an advantage.
• Certificate IV in Surface Coal Mining (OCEx) or on a training pathway.
• Track record of driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage production activities and deliver targets and schedules safely.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Technical and Support to set production priorities.
• Work with operational teams to secure services for production goals.
• Prioritise equipment and people; reconcile work against the Mine Plan.
• Monitor performance, identify risks and opportunities in the plan.
• Develop action plans to improve mining practices and safety.
• Foster a proactive safety culture with toolbox talks and training.
• Identify staff development needs and provide coaching and feedback.
• Maintain collaborative relationships and uphold Dawson’s values.
