Job summary

Anglo American Steelmaking Coal is seeking a Mining Superintendent (Load & Haul) to lead the Dawson Mine open-cut operation near Moura, Queensland. You will oversee the Load & Haul team, deliver the mine plan safely, and drive performance across production, maintenance and support services.

The role reports to the Operations Manager and requires strong leadership to develop frontline supervisors, align people and equipment with the plan, and ensure reliable production outcomes in a large,

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience leading coal mine workers and supervisors.
• Mining Supervisor competency (G1, G8 & G9) possession or equivalent.
• Valid Queensland Driver’s license (Open: C Class).
• Trade certificate, OCE ticket or tertiary degree in Mining Engineering is advantageous but not essential.
• Certificate IV in Surface Coal Mining (Open Cut Examiner) or pathway to achieve.
• Track record of driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage production activities and deliver against targets safely and in compliance with safety and statutory procedures.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Technical and Support Services to set production priorities.
• Collaborate with other teams to secure services needed to meet production goals.
• Monitor performance against plan and communicate changes to the team with timely reporting.
• Lead safety culture through toolbox talks, hazard awareness and training initiatives.
• Identify staff development needs and provide coaching and feedback.
