Dawson Mine, located near Moura in Central Queensland, is seeking an experienced Mining Superintendent (Load & Haul) to lead our open-cut operation and drive the mine plan safely. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will build frontline leadership, coordinate with maintenance and other services, and foster a proactive safety culture while delivering reliable production outcomes.

This role suits an established Superintendent or capable Co-Ordinator ready for greater accountability.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership of coal mine workers and supervisors.
• Must hold Mining Supervisor competency (G1, G8 & G9).
• Valid QLD Open Class C driver’s license.
• Trade certificate or tertiary degree in Mining would be an advantage.
• Certificate IV in Surface Coal Mining or pathway to achieve this competency.
• Track record of driving continuous improvement.

Responsabilités

• Manage production activities and deliver against targets safely and efficiently.
• Liaise with Maintenance, Technical and other Support Services to set priorities.
• Prioritise equipment and people to meet production needs within schedules.
• Monitor and report progress to keep the Mine Plan up to date.
• Identify risks and opportunities in delivering the mining plan.
• Foster a proactive safety culture and conduct toolbox talks.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback to staff.
• Build collaborative relationships while upholding Dawson’s values.
