Job summary

Peabody Energy Corporation in Queensland is seeking a Technical Services Superintendent to lead the Technical Services team at Coppabella Mine. You will oversee mine planning, geology, survey disciplines, and reporting to drive safe, efficient, and sustainable operations while mentoring a high-performing team.

You will bring tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or Geology, proven open-cut coal mining leadership, and strong knowledge of planning, design, and scheduling software.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related discipline.
• Proven leadership experience in open-cut coal mining operations.
• Strong technical knowledge of mine planning, design, and scheduling software.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Technical Services team to achieve operational and strategic goals.
• Oversee mine planning, design, and scheduling to optimise production and resource recovery.
• Provide technical expertise and support to operations, ensuring compliance with statutory and company standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, projects, and corporate functions.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of technical data and performance metrics.
