Job summary
Peabody is seeking a Technical Services Superintendent for the Coppabella Mine in Queensland. You will lead the Technical Services team, oversee mine planning, design and scheduling, and provide expert technical support to operations to meet safety, productivity and sustainability goals.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will drive continuous improvement, mentor staff, and deliver reporting of technical data and performance metrics.
Qualifications
- Mining engineering or geology degree required.
- Proven leadership in open-cut coal mining operations.
- Strong knowledge of mine planning, design and scheduling software.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead teams and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Technical Services team to achieve operational and strategic goals.
- Oversee mine planning, design, and scheduling to optimise production and resource recovery.
- Provide technical expertise and support to operations, ensuring compliance with statutory and company standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, projects, and corporate functions.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of technical data and performance metrics.
