Job summary

Peabody’s Coppabella Mine in Queensland seeks a Technical Services Superintendent to lead the technical services function and drive safe, efficient mining operations. You will mentor the team and deliver excellence across planning, geology, and survey disciplines.

The role reports to the Technical Services Manager and requires strong leadership, communication, and collaborative skills to optimise production and sustainability. Relocation support is offered.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related discipline.
• Experience leading open-cut coal mining operations.
• Strong knowledge of mine planning, design, and scheduling software.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Technical Services team to achieve operational and strategic goals.
• Oversee mine planning, design, and scheduling to optimise production and resource recovery.
• Provide technical expertise and support to operations, ensuring compliance with statutory and company standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, projects, and corporate functions.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of technical data and performance metrics.
