Job summary

Talent is seeking a senior M365 Lead Engineer to own the architecture, design and delivery of a secure enterprise Microsoft 365 environment in Canberra. You will set the technical direction, govern compliance with security and governance requirements, and drive initiatives across delivery teams.

The role requires strong experience in M365 tenant design, landing zone architecture, and collaboration with Cyber/GRC stakeholders.

M365 Lead Engineer – NV1

Location: Canberra, ACT

Security Clearance: NV1 required

Contract: Until June 30, 2027 with possible extension options

We are seeking an experienced M365 Lead Engineer to lead the architecture, design and technical delivery of a secure enterprise Microsoft 365 collaboration environment.

This is a senior technical leadership position suited to an experienced M365 Architect, Modern Workplace Architect or Lead M365 Engineer who has designed complex Microsoft 365 environments and can provide technical governance across delivery, security and stakeholder groups.

The Role

You will take ownership of the overall architecture and technical direction of the M365 platform, ensuring the environment is secure, scalable and aligned with organisational security and governance requirements.

What We’re Looking For

• M365 architecture and complex enterprise environment design.
• M365 tenant design and platform architecture.
• Leading technical delivery across Microsoft 365 environments.
• Technical governance, architecture decisions and risk management.
• Identity and access management within secure enterprise environments.
• Working with Cyber Security and GRC stakeholders.
• M365 governance, lifecycle, change and release management.
• Communicating complex technical decisions to senior stakeholders.
• Providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.

Experience delivering Microsoft 365 solutions within Australian Government, Defence or similarly security-conscious environments will be highly regarded.
