The Opportunity

Advance your consulting career and join the FinXL team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Microsoft 365 Administration & Support. In this role, you will play a critical part in engineering, configuring, and operating mission-critical M365 and Azure environments within a heavily regulated, high-security program of work.

This is a long-term engagement featuring an initial 12-month contract, with a view to extend through to March 2029.

Key Responsibilities

• M365 Engineering & Operations: Engineer, configure, and operate core M365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and related workloads.

• Identity & Access Management: Implement and maintain identity controls using Microsoft Entra ID (roles, conditional access policies, MFA, and privileged access management).

• Azure Administration: Manage Azure resources, subscriptions, resource groups, RBAC, and identity integrations supporting M365 enterprise workloads.

• Security & Compliance: Enforce platform baselines, security controls, and information protection in alignment with strict governance standards.

• L2/L3 Operational Support: Investigate and resolve complex platform incidents, service degradations, and operational issues while executing approved changes.

• Documentation & Governance: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, operational runbooks, and as-built records while supporting audits and assurance reporting.

Key Technical Skills Required

• M365 Platform: Deep expertise across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams governance, tenant-level configuration, and group-based licensing.

• Identity & Security: Advanced Microsoft Entra ID management, Conditional Access, MFA, and least-privilege administration.

• Azure Infrastructure: Proven capability in Azure subscription management, RBAC, and core Azure networking/security fundamentals.

• Operations & Automation: Strong L2/L3 support background, ITIL change/incident processes, and administrative automation using PowerShell.

• Desirable: Experience with Microsoft Purview, Intune, Microsoft Sentinel, or operating within ITAR/FMS controlled environments.

Mandatory Baseline Criteria

Due to strict regulatory and compliance requirements, candidates MUST meet all of the following:

• Citizenship: Must be an Australian Citizen.

• Clearance: Must hold an active NV1 (Negative Vetting 1) Security Clearance or above.

Contract Details & Location

• Duration: Initial 12-month contract with extensions through to 2029.

• Location: Canberra is preferred, but open to candidates based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.
