Job summary

Montgomery Advisory, based in Sydney, seeks a lead project lawyer to protect and maximise the company’s commercial interests across all stages of a billion-dollar infrastructure project. You will work closely with and be supported by the General Counsel while delivering practical legal advice and commercial insights.

The role focuses on project delivery, contract review and negotiation, dispute management, and training the project team, requiring autonomous work and strong problem-solving

Qualifications

• 7–10 years post-admission experience in construction law.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to simplify complex legal issues and communicate clearly to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Providing practical legal advice on project delivery matters.
• Reviewing and negotiating a broad range of project related contracts.
• Supporting project teams on claim management, disputes and commercial risk management.
• Delivering legal training, coaching, and team induction sessions to the project team.
