Job summary

UGL Pty Limited, within the Logan Gold Coast Faster Rail project, seeks an experienced Power Systems Lead to drive the delivery of high voltage power systems, substations, and rail infrastructure. You will provide technical leadership across interfaces with designers, construction, operations and stakeholders, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery across the project lifecycle.

The role requires strong failure-risk management, experience in HV assets and a track record leading

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering degree or relevant tertiary qualification.
• Member of IE Aust or IPENZ desirable.
• Rail Industry Worker competencies.
• Senior Project Engineer / Engineering Manager / Technical Lead experience delivering HV substations or major infrastructure.
• Experience with HV assets, substations, distribution networks, renewable energy or industrial power systems.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholders.
• Strong SHEQ compliance experience and cost/risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, delivery and integration of HV power and substation works across the project lifecycle.
• Manage engineering interfaces between designers, construction teams, operations and client stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership on power systems, substations and infrastructure.
• Manage technical risks and ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
• Oversee temporary works and infrastructure arrangements as required.
• Prepare work packages and documentation for tendering subcontractors and evaluate capacity.
• Inform Project Manager of significant SH&E, quality or delivery risks and take action.
• Coach and train team members to align with project objectives and actions.
