Job summary

UGL – Projects-Major Projects is seeking an experienced Power Systems Lead to drive delivery of high voltage substations and associated rail electrical infrastructure in Australia. You will lead across the project lifecycle, manage interfaces with designers, construction, operations and stakeholders, and provide technical leadership while mitigating risks and ensuring compliance.

Qualifications

• Recognised degree in engineering or other relevant qualification.
• Member of IE Australia (IEAust) or graduate member of IPENZ desirable.
• Rail Industry Worker competencies desirable.
• Experience as Senior Project Engineer/Engineering Manager/Technical Lead delivering HV substations and power systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, delivery and integration of HV power and substation works across the project lifecycle.
• Manage engineering interfaces between designers, construction teams, operations and client stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership on power systems, substations and associated infrastructure.
• Manage technical risks and ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
• Organise and implement temporary works and infrastructure as required.
• Prepare work packages, tender documentation and review subcontractor proposals.
• Inform Project Manager of SH&E, quality or other issues impacting delivery and take corrective action.
• Guide and train team members to align with project objectives and quality expectations.
