Job summary
BHP is seeking a Principal Functional Safety & Control Systems Discipline Engineer to lead technical safety and control systems across WA Asset Projects. You will guide design development, assurance, and governance to ensure compliant, fit-for-purpose solutions for complex mining infrastructure.
You will manage safety deliverables, review specifications, and partner with project teams to drive risk reduction and sustainable outcomes.
Qualifications
- Functional Safety, particularly machine safety.
- Industrial Control Systems experience in heavy industry or mining sectors.
- Experience with governance and Sustainability in Design processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide functional safety and control systems expertise to support engineering outcomes.
- Lead engineering planning and delivery from design through commissioning.
- Review processes and decisions to promote quality and compliance with standards.
- Guide functional safety processes per Australian Standards and best practice.
- Collaborate with project teams to minimise health and safety risks through SiD activities.
- Provide specialist advice across functional safety and control systems to partners.
