Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design and delivery for mining and resource sector projects in Australia, guiding power distribution, substations and HV/LV systems while mentoring teams and maintaining client relationships.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, project ownership, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• RPEQ registration or eligible to obtain registration.
• Significant experience delivering mining, minerals processing, resources or heavy industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of Australian electrical design standards and industry best practice.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design and delivery for mining and resource sector projects.
• Provide technical leadership across power distribution, substations, MCCs, HV/LV systems and related infrastructure.
• Mentor engineers and designers and build strong client relationships.
• Take ownership of project scope, deliverables, quality, schedule and technical outcomes.
• Lead electrical studies, design reviews, calculations and technical assurance activities.
• Support business development activities, proposals and client engagement.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams across Australia.
• Review and approve engineering documentation, specifications and technical reports.
• Identify and manage project risks while driving practical, value-focused solutions.
• Contribute to growth and capability development of the Mining team.
