Job summary

WSP in Australia is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer for our Brisbane-based Mining team. Lead and shape electrical design for complex mining projects, mentor multidisciplinary teams, and maintain strong client relationships across Australia.

You will drive technical excellence in power distribution, HV/LV systems, and substation design while collaborating with engineers, designers, and project stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant, and value-driven solutions.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
RPEQ registration or eligibility to obtain registration.
Experience delivering mining, minerals processing, resources or heavy industrial projects.
Strong knowledge of Australian electrical design standards and industry best practice.
Experience with power systems and HV/LV infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical engineering design and delivery for mining and resource sector projects.
Provide technical leadership across power distribution, substations, MCCs, HV/LV systems.
Mentor engineers and designers and act as client adviser.
Manage project scope, deliverables, quality, schedule and outcomes.
Lead electrical studies, design reviews, calculations, and technical assurance.
