Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Australia is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for mining and resource projects on brownfield and greenfield sites. You will guide power distribution, substations, HV/LV systems, and mentoring of engineers within a multidisciplinary team across Australia.

You'll combine technical excellence with client leadership, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement, supporting business growth and delivering high standards of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• RPEQ registration or eligible to obtain.
• Significant mining/resources or heavy industrial project experience.
• Strong knowledge of Australian electrical design standards.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Client management and business development capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and delivery for mining projects.
• Provide technical leadership across power distribution, substations, HV/LV systems.
• Mentor engineers and designers.
• Act as trusted advisor to clients and manage relationships.
• Own project scope, deliverables, quality, schedule and outcomes.
• Lead electrical studies, reviews, calculations and assurance activities.
• Support proposals, BD activities and client engagement.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Australia.
• Review and approve engineering documentation and reports.
• Identify and manage project risks.
