Job summary

Edge Early Learning Maryborough Centre is seeking a Lead Educator to mentor a team, design engaging learning experiences aligned with the EYLF, and work closely with the Centre Director and Educational Leader to shape a positive centre culture. You’ll lead the PreKindy room and contribute to a welcoming, inclusive environment for children and families.

Ideal candidates have a Diploma or Graduate Diploma/Masters in Teaching with long day care experience, plus proven leadership in a long day care

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or Graduate Diploma / Masters with required long day care experience.
• Lead Educator role requires a Diploma and at least 2 years in a Lead Educator position.
• Educator path accepts Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, Diploma or working towards Diploma.
• Graduate Diploma/Master of Teaching applicants must also meet the required early childhood experience criteria.
• Experience leading a room in a long day care setting and mentoring other educators.

As our Lead Educator, you'll mentor and support your team, create engaging learning experiences, work alongside an experienced Centre Director and Educational Leader, and help shape a positive centre culture.

About the Role:

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or recognised equivalent at Children's Services Employee Level 4+)
  OR Graduate Diploma / Masters of Teaching with the required long day care experience

Experience (within a long day care setting)

• For Lead Educators you need to hold a Diploma and have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a Lead Educator role.
• For Educators we are looking for Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, Diploma or working towards Diploma.
• Graduate Diploma/Master of Teaching: 3-4 years' Educator experience or 2+ years' Lead Educator experience in Australian long day care.
• Experience leading a room in a long day care setting
• Confidence mentoring other educators
• Strong understanding of the NQF and EYLF
• Passion for creating engaging learning environments

Compliance Documentation

• Working with Children Check, mandatory
• National Child Safety Training (GECCKO)
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates
