Job summary

Civmec is delivering the SMPE&I package for Iluka’s Rare Earths Refinery in Eneabba, Australia. The Completions Lead will steer the completions team through planning, readiness, turnover and handover activities on a major project.

You will lead a team of completions professionals, collaborating with project, engineering, quality, construction and commissioning stakeholders to drive safe, timely delivery and successful client outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Trade Qualification, Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
  • Current Construction Industry White Card.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Demonstrated experience leading completions, commissioning readiness or system handover activities on construction, resources, infrastructure, energy or industrial projects.

Job description

Civmec is delivering the SMPE&I package for Iluka’s Rare Earths Refinery in Eneabba, Australia’s first fully integrated rare earths processing facility. This landmark development involves the delivery of large-scale structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works within a complex processing environment.

Join our project team as a Completions Lead, where you'll provide leadership and direction across construction completion, commissioning readiness and system handover activities on a major project. Leading a team of completions professionals and working closely with project, engineering, quality, construction and commissioning stakeholders, you'll drive the successful planning, execution and delivery of all completion’s activities.

You will be responsible for ensuring systems, documentation, inspections and testing requirements are completed safely, efficiently and in line with project objectives, while managing priorities, resources and stakeholder expectations. Your leadership will play a key role in achieving seamless project handover, minimising delivery risks and ensuring successful client outcomes.

This position is based at the Iluka Rare Earths Refinery in Eneabba, approximately 274km north of Perth, Western Australia. Civmec offers a 2:1 DIDO roster, with all transport to and from site provided from Perth Airport, giving you the opportunity to work on a nationally significant project while enjoying a balanced roster arrangement.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor Completions Coordinators, Engineers and project personnel to ensure the safe, efficient and successful delivery of completion and handover activities.
  • Drive completions planning, readiness, turnover and handover processes while maintaining alignment between Construction, Engineering, Quality, Commissioning and Client stakeholders.
  • Establish clear priorities, expectations and accountability across the completions team to achieve project milestones, safety targets and quality objectives.
  • Manage resources across completion systems and work fronts, ensuring critical path activities are supported and delivery risks are proactively addressed.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, continuous improvement and successful project outcomes.
  • Provide strategic oversight of completions progress, status reporting and handover documentation, ensuring compliance with project and client requirements.
  • Support workforce planning, team development and capability building while acting as the primary escalation point for technical, quality and completion-related issues.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Trade Qualification, Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
