The Spice Route Gourmet is seeking a qualified Full Time Chef to join our friendly team. We value experienced and dedicated individuals who can lead a professional kitchen and exceed customer expectations. You will prepare high quality dishes, help design menus, manage inventory and mentor junior staff.

Strong leadership, effective communication and a background in busy kitchen environments are essential. Flexible availability is required and you will work as part of a supportive team to deliver

Qualifications

• 2+ years of proven kitchen experience in a busy environment.
• Qualifications in commercial cookery – Cert IV or higher.
• Flexible availability.
• Strong leadership, motivational and people skills.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and cook high quality dishes according to standards and recipes.
• Designing and updating menu and prices as per the needs of the business.
• Monitor and record inventory and, if necessary, order supplies.
• Ensure OH&S and food hygiene requirements are met.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
• Oversee kitchen operations, ordering and stock control.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety and health regulations.
• Work unsupervised and in a team while maintaining a secure and friendly working environment.
