Job summary

Insight Timer seeks a Senior or Lead Analytics Engineer to learn from its data and guide product decisions. You’ll own experiments, data models and metrics, applying strong software practices to keep data clean and trusted, with a product mindset to improve the app over a lifetime.

You’ll help lead the analytics team, set technical direction, mentor others, and advance self-serve analytics so teams can answer their own questions. Fully remote, based in Australia.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Solid experience as an analytics engineer and owning work end to end.
• Strong SQL on a modern cloud data warehouse (BigQuery).
• Experience with large event-based datasets and varied schemas.
• Track record of analysing and interpreting A/B tests (causal inference a plus).
• Background in maths or statistics, or a STEM degree is a plus.
• Experience with Python, LLM or agentic analytics workflows, and semantic layers.

Responsibilities

• A/B test analysis: interpret experiments and translate results into product recommendations.
• Analytics delivery: provide clear, useful answers and prioritise high-impact work.
• Data ingestion, modelling and metrics: own data modeling and trusted metrics, ship clean datasets.
• Self-serve and agentic analytics: build tooling and semantic layers for self-serve analytics.
• Product and revenue analysis: find user segments and understand lifecycle in the app.
• Mentoring and leadership: guide analytics engineers and set technical direction.
• Communication: explain data clearly to technical and non-technical people.
