Job summary

Cartology - Part Of The Woolworths Group seeks a Lead Analytics Engineer to own the semantic and BI layer of its data platform, using BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, Python, and Looker (GCP) to build a scalable single source of truth. You will drive data modeling and governance from the warehouse through Looker Explores, conversational analytics, and AI agents—starting with finance and revenue domains.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data or analytics engineering with production experience.
• Strong SQL and Python for data pipelines and testing.
• Hands-on LookML, semantic modeling, and Looker governance.
• Experience with dbt and Airflow for pipeline orchestration.
• Knowledge of Kimball dimensional modeling and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the semantic and BI layer across the data platform.
• Shape platform architecture and establish data standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with Product and Biz teams.
• Deliver AI-enabled analytics and conversational data capabilities.
• Standardize metrics and migrate Looker instances within Woolworths Group.
