Job summary

Zurich seeks a hands‑on Lead Engineer for its ZX initiative to design and build AI‑driven agentic systems. You’ll lead from experimentation to production, shaping the future of AI‑led insurance within a modern cloud‑native environment.

In this role you’ll set technical direction, uplift engineering standards, and collaborate with product and design teams to deliver scalable AI solutions that improve customer outcomes and business performance.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software engineering, ML, or data science within cloud‑native environments.
• Proficient in Python and TypeScript with modern AI frameworks.
• Proven experience building AI agents, RAG pipelines, or agentic systems using LLM‑based development frameworks.
• Deep understanding of AI evaluation, observability, and optimisation techniques.
• Experience with AWS services and infrastructure as code tools to design and manage scalable cloud solutions.
• Strong knowledge of DevSecOps, data engineering concepts, and working in Agile, product‑led delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end development of AI agents and agentic orchestration solutions in production environments.
• Drive engineering excellence through strong DevSecOps and AIOps practices, ensuring security, reliability, and resilience.
• Establish robust evaluation, monitoring, and observability frameworks to improve quality, accuracy, and performance.
• Build scalable, reusable components and contribute to shared frameworks, standards, and internal documentation.
• Optimise developer productivity through AI‑powered engineering tools and automation across the delivery lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to solve real customer and business problems using AI‑native approaches.
