Job summary

Edwards Landscapes is seeking a Site Manager to run landscape construction projects from start on site through practical completion. You will be hands-on daily, work alongside your crew, and set the plan and sequence of work to keep projects on programme and on budget.

The role offers real responsibility, a clear development path, and opportunities to grow with our Central West/Mudgee operation as the business expands.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Landscape Construction or equivalent trade experience.
• Proven experience leading a crew on residential landscape projects.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality finishes.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and set-out information.
• Solid workplace safety knowledge and site compliance.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to work hands-on on site.

Responsibilities

• Lead allocated landscape projects from start on site to practical completion.
• Work on the tools daily with the crew, not only supervising.
• Set daily plan and sequence of work for your crew.
• Confirm materials before ordering and check deliveries on site.
• Induct subcontractors and enforce quality and safety standards.
• Complete daily site reports covering progress, plan, labour and blockers.
• Oversee excavation, set-out, levels and handover quality.
• Develop apprentices and manage site safety and presentation.

Job description

As Site Manager, you will run allocated landscape construction jobs from start on site through to practical completion - not just supervising the crew, but owning the job. You'll be on the tools every day, working alongside your crew while also setting the daily plan and sequence of work. You'll manage quality and finish, and work closely with your Project Manager to keep every job on programme and on budget. This is a genuine step up in responsibility, with real support and a clear development path as our Central West team grows.

Key responsibilities

• Run your allocated jobs from start on site through to practical completion - the whole build, start to finish
• Work on the tools every day alongside your crew - this is a hands-on role, not just supervision
• Set the daily plan and sequence of work for your crew
• Confirm material quantities before ordering and check deliveries against the job
• Induct subcontractors on your job, set the standard, and flag the same day if work isn't right or a subbie doesn't show
• Identify anything outside scope and stop work - nothing extra gets built until it's priced and approved
• Complete a daily site report every day - progress, plan, labour, materials, blockers
• Supervise excavation, set-out, levels and build quality through to handover
• Develop the apprentices in your crew and own site safety and presentation
• Communicate professionally with your Project Manager, clients on site, and other trades

About you

• Certificate III in Landscape Construction or equivalent trade experience
• Proven experience leading a crew and working hands-on on residential landscape construction projects
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality finishes
• Good practical knowledge across masonry, carpentry, paving and softscape work
• Ability to read and build accurately from plans and set-out information
• Sound understanding of workplace safety and site compliance
• Valid driver's licence
• Relevant machinery tickets an advantage
