Job description

The Senior Landscape Estimator & Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and managing the estimating and sales process from initial lead through to project award.

Key responsibilities include:

Actively sourcing new residential, commercial and rectification landscape projects

Using existing industry relationships and contacts to generate new opportunities

Developing relationships with builders, developers, architects, landscape architects, property managers, owners corporations and commercial clients

Identifying and pursuing tender opportunities

Attending site inspections, client meetings and project briefings

Reviewing architectural, landscape and engineering drawings

Completing detailed take-offs for labour, materials, plant and subcontractors

Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor pricing

Preparing detailed quotations, estimates and tender submissions

Identifying construction risks, access issues, exclusions and potential variations prior to pricing

Ensuring projects are priced to meet Monaco Landscapes' required margins

Presenting proposals and discussing scope directly with clients

Following up all outstanding quotations and tenders

Negotiating scope and pricing within approved company guidelines

Maintaining an active sales and estimating pipeline

Tracking the value and status of current opportunities

Recording reasons for won and lost projects

Maintaining regular contact with existing and prospective clients

Developing repeat work and long-term client relationships

Working with management on sales strategy and target markets

Completing detailed handovers to the operations and project delivery team once work is secured

Assisting with forecasting future workload and project commencement dates

Providing feedback on market pricing, competitors and industry opportunities

The successful applicant will ideally have previous experience in landscape estimating, construction estimating, project management or business development and a strong understanding of landscape construction.

A proven industry network and demonstrated ability to generate new work will be highly regarded.
