Job summary

Core Talent is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead pre-construction tendering for a portfolio of civil landscaping, streetscape and paving projects in Sydney, NSW. You will own the estimating function, review drawings and contracts, and liaise with clients and suppliers to deliver accurate, competitive tenders.

The role requires proven landscaping estimation experience, strong cost analysis skills, and the ability to manage multiple tenders while coordinating with senior management

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or Estimator in soft & hard landscaping, paving & open spaces.
• Strong understanding of public domain works, streetscapes and civil construction methodologies.
• Experience tendering for Tier 1/2 builders, local councils, government authorities, commercial developments, and/or private clients.
• Strong commercial acumen to assess project costs and risks.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient with estimating software and MS Office.
• Proactive approach with ability to manage multiple tenders.
• Full Australian work rights (Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen).

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documentation.
• Complete detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering initiatives.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout the tender process.
• Support successful project handovers to the delivery team.
• Maintain estimating records and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes.
