Job summary

Frontline Recruitment Group – Brisbane QLD is seeking an experienced Landscape Estimator to manage the estimating and tendering process for commercial landscaping projects. You will develop detailed cost estimates, BOQs and budgets, and prepare competitive tenders in collaboration with design and construction teams.

Working with clients and suppliers, you will review pricing, coordinate quotes, and ensure accuracy and timely submissions.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial estimating role, preferably in landscaping or civil construction.
• Procore experience is essential.
• Ability to prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs and budgets.
• Experience coordinating tenders and working with design/construction teams.

About the Company

An established and growing business specializing in commercial landscaping, playground construction and outdoor environments is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its team. With projects ranging from smaller refurbishments through to large-scale, multi-stage developments, this is an opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of commercial projects while contributing to the continued growth of the business.

About the Role

Due to increasing workloads and continued growth, an opportunity is available for a detail-oriented Landscape Estimator to manage the estimating and tendering process from initial assessment through to final submission. Working closely with the Design and Construction teams, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, developing competitive tenders and ensuring projects are priced correctly and handed over with clear budgets and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and assess new tender opportunities through online tender portals and industry networks.


• Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, budgets and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).


• Coordinate and prepare quotes and tenders, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted within deadlines.


• Liaise with clients throughout the quoting and tendering process, maintaining strong professional relationships.


• Obtain and review pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating costs where appropriate.


• Collaborate with Design and Construction teams to ensure estimates align with project requirements and delivery expectations.


• Prepare detailed job folders and budget information to support a smooth handover to the Construction team.


• Maintain accurate tender records, file management systems and reporting on current and upcoming opportunities.


• Conduct site inspections when required to assess site conditions, quantities and potential project challenges.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a commercial estimating role, ideally within landscaping, civil construction, building or a related industry.


• Procore experience is essential.


• Experience using Smartsheet and the Microsoft Office Suite.


• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.


• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.


• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.


• A proactive approach, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
