Job summary

Western Downs Regional Council is seeking a Labourer to undertake horticultural duties across parks, gardens and cemeteries, operating a range of plant and equipment. This full-time, permanent position forms part of the Parks and Open Space team and offers generous benefits.

The successful candidate will hold a Certificate II in Horticulture or demonstrate equivalent experience, plus current Queensland C Class Licence (MR preferred) and White Card.

Qualifications

• Certificate II in Horticulture or equivalent related experience.
• Current Queensland C Class Licence (MR licence preferred).
• OH&S Construction Safety Induction White Card preferred or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of horticultural plant and equipment in Councils parks, gardens and cemeteries.
• Carry out maintenance to park assets as part of the Parks and Open Space team.
• Complete allocated tasks within agreed time frames.
• Other duties as directed.

The Opportunity

The Labourer is responsible for undertaking of a range of horticultural duties as directed including the maintenance of Council’s parks assets and the operation of horticultural plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Operate of a range of horticultural plant and equipment in Councils parks, gardens and cemeteries;

As part of the Parks and Open Space team, carry out maintenance to park assets;

Complete allocated tasks consistently within agreed time frames; and

Other duties as directed

About Yourself

A person in this position will need to hold a relevant Certificate II in Horticulture, OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience.

It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have:

Current Queensland C Class Licence. “MR” licence (Preferred or willing to obtain).

OH&S Construction Safety Induction White Card (Preferred or willing to obtain)
