Job summary

Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking a Casual Labourer to join the Infrastructure team. The role involves carrying out general labouring duties in a safe and efficient manner, with supervision from the Team Leader.

You will keep accurate timesheets, operate and maintain plant and equipment, and comply with WHS policies. The position offers weekly pay, a salary range of $28.55-$34.01 per hour, PPE, development opportunities and a chance to contribute to our community.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid driver's licence.
• Possession of WH&S Construction Induction Training (White Card).
• Basic skills operating small plant, tools and equipment.
• Experience in general labouring duties.
• Knowledge of WH&S and ability to wear PPE.
• Sound literacy and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general labouring duties as directed in a safe and efficient manner.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To carry out general labouring duties as directed in a safe and efficient manner.

Within that environment the major challenges for the position of Labourer are to:

• To carry out duties in an enthusiastic, energetic manner to the quality and scope indicated by the Team Leader.
• Keep accurate timesheets and plant sheets.
• Operate and maintain items of plant and equipment when requested.
• To carry out duties unsupervised for short periods of time.
• Comply with all Work, Health & Safety Policies and procedures implemented by Council.

ABOUT YOU

Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and or qualifications:

• Current Driver Licence
• Possession of WorkCover WH&S Construction Induction Training (White Card)
• Basic skills operating a wide range of small plant & equipment/hand/tools
• Experience in general labouring duties
• Knowledge and understanding of WH&S and ability to wear PPE
• Sound literacy and numeracy skills
