Job summary

Gilgandra Shire Council invites applications for a Labourer to join the Infrastructure team in NSW. The role involves carrying out general labouring duties in a safe and efficient manner, with support from the Team Leader and access to PPE and training.

The position offers permanent full-time hours (38 per week), a rostered day off every fortnight, weekly pay, and several leave and superannuation benefits designed to support staff and community outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current Driver Licence.
• Possession of WorkCover WH&S Construction Induction Training (White Card).
• Basic skills operating small plant, equipment, hand tools.
• Experience in general labouring duties.
• Knowledge of WH&S and PPE requirements.
• Sound literacy and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general labouring duties in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain accurate timesheets and plant sheets as directed by the Team Leader.
• Operate and maintain items of plant and equipment when requested.
• Carry out duties unsupervised for short periods of time.
• Comply with all WH&S policies and procedures implemented by Council.

Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking Labourers to join the Infrastructure team!

• Permanent full time - 38 hours per week
• Rostered day off every fortnight - an extra 22 days off a year!
• Weekly pay cycle
• Salary range $1096.55 - $1292.58 per week

ABOUT THE ROLE

To carry out general labouring duties as directed in a safe and efficient manner.

Within that environment the major challenges for the position of Labourer are to:

• To carry out duties in an enthusiastic, energetic manner to the quality and scope indicated by the Team Leader.
• Keep accurate timesheets and plant sheets.
• Operate and maintain items of plant and equipment when requested.
• To carry out duties unsupervised for short periods of time.
• Comply with all Work, Health & Safety Policies and procedures implemented by Council.

ABOUT YOU

Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and or qualifications:

• Current Driver Licence

• Experience in general labouring duties
• Knowledge and understanding of WH&S and ability to wear PPE
