Job summary

Talison Lithium is seeking a Laboratory Technician at the Greenbushes Lithium Operation on a part-time roster. You will perform sample preparation and analyses (AAS and XRF), while maintaining safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.

This role supports the Laboratory Management Team and encourages strong attention to detail. The position offers a balanced schedule with shifts that include nights, designed for work-life harmony in a mining environment.

Qualifications

• Collaborative team player with strong communication skills and safety-conscious approach.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical ability.
• Comfort with numbers and computer applications, including data entry and analysis.
• Experience in laboratory or mining environments is advantageous but not required.
• Certificate III in Laboratory Skills is highly regarded if present.

Responsibilities

• Carry out shift analysis tasks with accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
• Prepare samples for analysis daily, including registration, splitting, crushing, pulverising, and sizing.
• Perform AAS and XRF analyses safely and to required standards.
• Ensure full compliance with laboratory procedures, quality systems and safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe laboratory work environment.
• Assist Laboratory Management with additional duties to support operations.

Part–Time Position

About The Role

Reporting to the Laboratory Shift Supervisor, you’ll join a proactive and supportive team responsible for sample preparation and analysis, including AAS and XRF testing. You’ll work to established laboratory procedures while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping.

This role operates on a part-time roster, offering excellent work–life balance. Working a 3 days on / 11 days off, 4 nights on / 13 days off, 4 days on / 11 days off, 3 nights on / 7 days off roster (12‑hour shifts).

Responsibilities Include

• carrying out shift analysis tasks with accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to quality standards;
• preparing samples for analysis each day, including registration, splitting, crushing, pulverising, and sizing in line with established procedures;
• performing AAS and XRF analyses safely, efficiently, and to required standards;
• ensuring full compliance with laboratory procedures, quality systems, and safety requirements;
• maintaining a clean, organised, and safe laboratory work environment; and
• assisting the Laboratory Management Team with additional duties as needed to support smooth laboratory operations.
