Job summary

Evolve Scientific in Perth is seeking a hands-on laboratory technician for a short-term contract role. You will handle sample weighing, preparation and analysis in a busy production environment, with a 6:00am–2:00pm shift and Monday–Friday schedule.

Ideal candidates have laboratory experience in mining or industrial testing, with strong attention to detail and a safety-focused work ethic. You will support data recording and equipment maintenance while contributing to timely turnarounds.

Qualifications

• Experience in mining, minerals, cement, environmental or industrial testing environments is highly regarded.
• Experience with sample preparation and wet chemistry techniques is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Weigh, prepare and process samples.
• Perform wet chemistry procedures including digestions, titrations, and related lab techniques.
• Analyze samples using analytical instrumentation such as XRF.
• Accurately record and enter laboratory data.
• Maintain and organise laboratory equipment and materials.
• Keep the lab clean and safe and follow procedures and safety protocols.
• Support testing schedules and turnaround times.

About the role:

• Short term contract role with potential for extension
• Based in Perth, supporting laboratory operations within a busy production environment.
• Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 2:00pm.
• Hands-on laboratory position involving sample preparation, testing, analysis, and data recording.

About your duties:

• Sample weighing, preparation, and processing.
• Perform wet chemistry procedures including digestions, titrations, and related laboratory techniques.
• Conduct analysis of samples using analytical instrumentation such as XRF.
• Accurately record and enter laboratory data.
• Assist with the maintenance and organisation of laboratory equipment and materials.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure a clean and safe laboratory environment.
• Follow laboratory procedures, quality requirements, and safety protocols.
• Support laboratory operations to ensure testing schedules and turnaround times are met.

About you:

• Previous laboratory experience within mining, minerals, cement, environmental, or industrial testing environments would be highly regarded.
• Experience performing sample preparation and wet chemistry techniques is advantageous.
