Evolve Scientific in Brisbane is seeking a Laboratory Technical Officer on a contract through to end of June 2027 to support busy environmental, water, or soil testing laboratories. The role is hands-on and requires collaboration within a team.

Ideal candidates have experience in analytical labs and with instruments such as ICP, IC, UV-Vis, HPLC, or GC, and can follow established procedures to deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Experience in an analytical laboratory environment.
• Exposure to water and/or soil testing is highly regarded.
• Experience operating analytical instrumentation such as ICP, IC, UV-Vis, HPLC or GC is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation.
• Ensure testing adheres to procedures and quality standards.
• Record and manage sample information using LIMS and other systems.

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technical Officer to join a busy analytical laboratory on a contract basis through to the end of June 2027. This role would suit a candidate with experience in environmental, water, or soil testing laboratories who enjoys hands-on laboratory work and working as part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct analysis of environmental samples including water, soil, and related matrices.
• Prepare samples, reagents, standards, and quality control materials.
• Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation.
• Ensure testing is completed accurately and in accordance with laboratory procedures and quality standards.
• Record and manage sample information using LIMS and other laboratory systems.
• Assist with troubleshooting, instrument maintenance, and continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain a safe and organised laboratory environment.

About You

• Qualifications in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Laboratory Technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience working in an analytical laboratory environment.
• Exposure to water and/or soil testing would be highly regarded.
• Experience operating analytical instrumentation such as ICP, IC, UV-Vis, HPLC, GC, or similar is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality results.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and follow established procedures.
