Evolve Scientific invites expressions for a site-based laboratory role supporting a 24-hour processing operation in Mildura. The 3-month contract offers relocation assistance and an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, with a focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

The role involves collecting samples, conducting routine lab tests, XRF analysis, reporting results in CCLAS, and ensuring compliance with standards while supporting operational decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience in metallurgical/mineral processing lab environments preferred.
• Relevant qualifications in Laboratory Operations, Chemistry or related discipline advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and safety standards essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production setting and manage varying workloads.

Responsibilities

• Collect and prepare routine process samples from the plant.
• Conduct laboratory testing and analysis in accordance with procedures.
• Perform wet and dry sizing analysis.
• Complete heavy liquid separation testing.
• Undertake sulphur, moisture, and pH analysis.
• Conduct XRF analysis where required.
• Record and report results using the laboratory management system (CCLAS).
• Maintain laboratory equipment and perform routine calibration.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Support operational decision-making through reliable analytical results.

This role is ideal for someone with laboratory, metallurgy, mineral processing, or analytical testing experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and contributing to operational performance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collect and prepare routine process samples from the plant.
• Conduct laboratory testing and analysis in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform wet and dry sizing analysis.
• Complete heavy liquid separation testing.
• Undertake sulphur, moisture, and pH analysis.
• Conduct X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis where required.
• Accurately record and report results using the laboratory management system (CCLAS).
• Maintain laboratory equipment and perform routine calibration and housekeeping activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Support operational decision-making through the delivery of reliable analytical results.

About You

• Previous experience working in a metallurgical, mineral processing, mining, industrial, or analytical laboratory environment.
• Relevant qualifications in Laboratory Operations, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality results.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment and manage varying workloads.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to maintaining high safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
• Willingness and ability to work a rotating roster in a 24-hour operation.
