Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Part-time Laboratory Technician (Chemistry) for an on-going casual contract in Brisbane. The role involves sample preparation and analytical testing of chemical products, with responsibilities including working with HPLC and ICP.

Immediate shortlisting is expected. The ideal candidate will have a Cert IV in Lab Techniques or a degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, strong analytical and safety knowledge, and the ability to work autonomously on-site with 2–3 days per

Qualifications

• Solid analytical and wet chemistry skills.
• Exposure to HPLC, GC, ICP or similar instrumentation.
• Knowledge of NATA, ISO and QA systems in a lab environment.
• Strong laboratory safety understanding.

Responsibilities

About the role:
Our client, a chemical manufacturer, is currently seeking a Part-time Laboratory Technician (Chemistry) for an on-going casual contract. This role is starting immediately and requires you to be available to work 2-3 days per week.
The position will report to the Lab Manager and be responsible for sample preparation and analytical testing of chemical products, using HPLC and ICP.

Skills & Experience:
The successful applicant must have:

• A cert IV in Lab Techniques, A Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering;
• Solid analytical and wet chemistry skills with exposure to HPLC, GC, ICP or other analytical instrumentation;
• Sound working knowledge of NATA, ISO and quality management systems within a laboratory environment;
• A strong understanding of laboratory safety is essential;
• Experience working with hazardous substances or in a high-risk environment would be highly regarded;
• Your own reliable transport as this site is not accessible via public transport;
• The ability to work autonomously with a proactive approach.
