Oakey Beef Exports is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician for our modern export abattoirs located on the Darling Downs, near Toowoomba. You will work in a NATA-accredited laboratory with on-plant sampling, testing and calibration, combining hands-on technical work with quality assurance and customer service focus.

This role involves working in a NATA accredited laboratory and offers job security, challenge and variety.
This is an outstanding opportunity for the suitable person to join an expanding progressive red meat / food industry leader, to follow an interesting career path and to further develop their skills in a progressive and ever‑changing environment.
This position is not exclusively Laboratory work and is a hands‑on technical role due to the variety of the tasks you will be conducting. Applicants will be required to conduct on‑plant sampling as well as testing and calibration within the Laboratory.
Preferred applicants will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail are crucial as well as a strong focus on customer service and quality assurance.
Knowledge of NATA standards and industry experience in microbiology analysis of meat and meat by‑products will be favourably regarded.
Willing to undertake further training in lab techniques relevant to the red meat industry.
Able to work a rotating weekly roster 4am to Midday,6am to 2pm and 8am to 4pm.
Availability to work some Saturdays if required.
Own reliable transport is essential.
Be vaccinated against the Q‑Fever virus or willing to take part in the vaccination process.
