This work‑from‑home/mobile position allows you to work from home and attend client sites throughout Far North Queensland to deliver audit services for the following standards:
Expect significant travel, including interstate trips for training, conferences and rotation management—typically 4 out of 5, or 8 out of 10 days, at client sites supporting North Queensland growers.
Daily responsibilities include:
You are passionate about food safety and possess strong knowledge and experience within the horticulture industry and food safety compliance practices.
Requirements include a minimum of two years’ on‑farm experience—such as chemical use, water use, planting and harvesting—within horticulture production systems or food processing (plants or packing/pre‑processing of plant products). You must understand food safety processes from picking to packing.
Experience in quality assurance of food safety functions (QA, environmental or sustainability management systems) is desirable.
You should hold, or be prepared to obtain, a post‑secondary qualification (a bachelor’s degree is highly regarded) in the horticulture industry—for example, Food Science or a related field.

You should be self‑motivated, organized and able to work autonomously with remote technical assistance. Proficiency in digital platforms and portals, clear professional writing, and comfort with typing reports or using electronic forms are required.
Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential for building professional relationships and delivering developmental feedback. A desire for continuous learning and effective time management is also important.
