Job summary

360biolabs in Melbourne is seeking a proactive Sample Reception Lead to coordinate and oversee the receipt, storage and tracking of clinical samples, ensuring compliance with LIMS, SOPs and accreditation standards as part of a quality-controlled CRO environment.

You will lead the Sample Reception team, manage relationships with investigators and clients, ensure efficient workflow, and contribute to continuous improvement through data analysis, policy maintenance and staff development.

Qualifications

• BSc in a scientific discipline (Essential)
• Extensive experience in laboratory environment such as analytical/pharmaceutical/pathology lab (Essential)
• Experience in conducting laboratory assays at a Contract Research Laboratory (Essential)
• Experience working in a quality-controlled environment (Essential) following ISO/IEC 17025/GLP
• Extensive people management experience (Essential)
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills (Essential)
• Ability to work as part of a team (Essential)
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (Essential)
• Experience handling clinical samples and international shipping/logistics (Desirable)
• Experience with LIMS, database software and file management (Desirable)
• Experience with use/configuration of a LIMS (Desirable)
• High motivation and enthusiasm for biomedical research (Desirable)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead sample reception operations for a busy laboratory
• Maintain laboratories in an efficient, well-organised manner
• Manage clinical sample registers and records in LIMS
• Oversee domestic and international sample shipments and storage
• Track clinical samples in LIMS and train staff in proper use
• Ensure equipment and systems monitor storage of reagents and samples across environments
• Support sample logistics by processing sample receipt, retrieval or dispatch as needed
• Provide leadership to the sample reception team and manage stakeholder relationships
• Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory guidelines
• Attend meetings and training related to biomedical research
