Job summary

Evolve Scientific in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Sample Reception Manager to oversee the intake, tracking and storage of clinical samples, ensuring integrity and traceability.

You will lead a high-performing team, implement SOPs, manage LIMS records, and coordinate domestic and international logistics while complying with ISO/IEC 17025 and GLP. This permanent, full-time role is based near Melbourne CBD and emphasizes quality, safety and client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Extensive laboratory experience in analytical, pharmaceutical, pathology, CRO or other regulated labs.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory assays and clinical samples.
• Demonstrated experience managing clinical sample logistics and international shipments.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems (ISO/IEC 17025, GLP, GCLP or similar).

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Sample Reception team, ensuring efficient workflows and service quality.
• Oversee receipt, tracking, storage and shipment of clinical samples (domestic and international).
• Manage sample inventory and records via a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Ensure proper storage and monitoring of samples and reagents across temperature-controlled environments.
• Maintain documentation and records compliant with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Review and implement SOPs and processes to support quality and continuous improvement.
• Analyze operational metrics to improve efficiency and service performance.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, sites and service providers.
• Lead, coach and develop team members and foster a collaborative culture.
• Ensure all lab activities comply with quality systems and regulatory requirements.

About You
