Job summary

Gunlake Group’s G-Lab Materials Testing division in Sydney seeks a Laboratory Manager to lead concrete, aggregate and soils testing programs. You will manage three laboratories, ensure compliance with Australian Standards and NATA, and drive quality, health and safety across field and lab operations.

You will supervise staff, implement QC programs, issue test certificates, manage testing specimens and procurement, and contribute to growing the G-Lab business function in a hands-on, fast-paced

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Laboratory Management is required.
• Suitable qualification in concrete technology or similar.
• Previous experience in similar laboratory management roles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High proficiency with MS Office programs.
• Capacity to work independently.
• Technical skills in Concrete/Aggregates/Soils.
• NATA signatory status.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of three laboratories within the G-Lab Materials Testing Services Laboratory within budget targets.
• Supervise and manage departments and staff, including two Laboratory Supervisors.
• Implement and monitor OH&S policies and procedures.
• Establish and maintain quality control testing programs.
• Ensure compliance with NATA and Quality Accreditation requirements.
• Check and issue accredited test certificates and statistical results.
• Oversee receipt of testing specimens and arrange procurement of consumables and maintenance.
• Grow and manage the G-Lab testing environment for internal and external customers.
• Plan and manage tests and improve testing efficiencies.
