Job summary

Heidelberg Materials seeks a Technical Operations Supervisor to lead Brisbane Concrete Laboratory operations, overseeing Concrete Field Testers and lab staff. You will ensure compliance with Australian Standards, NATA requirements and company procedures while driving quality and continuous improvement.

You will manage calibration, reporting, and staff development, partnering with Production and Sales to deliver top-tier concrete testing services.

Technical Operations SupervisorHeidelberg Materials is seeking a highly skilled Technical Operations Supervisor to lead our Brisbane Concrete Laboratory team, overseeing Concrete Field Testers and laboratory operations. Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, you will work closely with teams across the business to deliver high-quality concrete testing services, while ensuring laboratory operations, quality systems, and compliance with Australian Standards, NATA requirements, and company procedures.

About the Role:

Lead field-based Concrete Testers and day-to-day laboratory operations. Coordinate the delivery of concrete testing services to ensure compliance with Australian Standards and NATA requirements.

Ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the laboratory, including quality systems and equipment management.

Oversee equipment calibration, servicing, maintenance, and certification schedules.

Analyse, validate, and report test results using QESTLab, SAP, and associated systems. Measure and drive laboratory performance through corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Support and develop laboratory staff, including training, competency, and fostering a strong safety and quality culture.

Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including Concrete Production and Sales teams.

About You:

Qualifications in Construction Materials Testing or a related discipline.

Demonstrated experience in concrete field testing within a NATA-accredited laboratory environment. Strong understanding of NATA accreditation requirements, laboratory quality systems, and testing principles.

Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead, train, and develop technical teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

Proficiency in laboratory management systems and software, including QESTLab, SAP, and Microsoft Office.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
