Job summary

Winable Recruitment is seeking an experienced laboratory operations leader to manage three laboratories in Sydney and supervise two Laboratory Supervisors, ensuring strict NATA compliance and high-quality testing across activities.

You will oversee OH&S, implement quality programs, and coordinate training for lab and field technicians, with travel between sites as required to support client needs and timelines. The role emphasizes efficiency, accreditation maintenance, and mentoring the team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing a NATA-accredited laboratory
• Solid experience in concrete and aggregate testing
• Certificate IV in Laboratory Management (or working towards)
• NATA signatory status
• Excellent communication and assertiveness
• Experience in chemical testing is desirable but not essential

Job description

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of laboratory and field-testing operations, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and NATA requirements, while leading a team that includes direct supervision of two Laboratory Supervisors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of three laboratories, operating within set financial targets, and supervise staff including two direct-report Laboratory Supervisors
• Implement and monitor OH&S policies and procedures, and ensure ongoing compliance with NATA and Quality Accreditation requirements
• Establish and maintain quality control testing programs, checking and issuing accredited test certificates with a focus on accuracy and turnaround time
• Plan and manage testing operations, coordinate training for laboratory and field technicians, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
• Contribute to business growth through customer relationships, mentoring the team, and travel between sites as required

About you

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing a NATA-accredited laboratory, with solid experience in concrete and aggregate testing
• Certificate IV in Laboratory Management (or working towards)
• Suitable qualification in concrete technology or similar field
• NATA signatory status
• Driven, assertive, and an excellent communicator
