Job summary

KE Select is partnering with a well-established private pathology organisation across New South Wales. We seek an experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee operations, combining hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership in Haematology, Biochemistry and Microbiology.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will mentor staff, manage rostering, ensure quality diagnostics, and collaborate with pathologists to meet clinical objectives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Science or equivalent AIMS qualification.
• Minimum 5 years as a Senior Medical Scientist in clinical pathology.
• Strong knowledge across Haematology, Coagulation, Biochemistry, Microbiology.
• Experience with blood banking and emergency transfusion protocols.
• Previous leadership, supervision or operational coordination.
• Understanding of NATA, NPAAC, ANZSBT and quality/safety standards.
• Excellent organisation, communication and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day lab operations, ensuring efficient workflows.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple disciplines.
• Lead, mentor and develop laboratory staff.
• Coordinate rostering, workload, and resources.
• Maintain compliance with quality systems and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with pathologists and senior management.
• Build relationships with stakeholders to ensure service excellence.
