Job summary

Mercure IT in Brisbane is seeking a Kitchen Steward to help keep our kitchen clean, safe, and organised. You’ll support chefs by ensuring equipment and work areas are spotless and ready for service.

Your day will include operating dishwashing equipment, maintaining floors and storage areas, and assisting with waste management. You’ll work closely with the team to keep service running smoothly during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Keep kitchen areas clean and sanitised.
• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to high standards.
• Maintain floors, storage areas and stations.
• Assist with organisation of equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, pans and work areas.
• Operating commercial dishwashing equipment and ensuring all items are cleaned to a high standard.
• Maintaining cleanliness across kitchen floors, storage areas and dishwashing stations.
• Supporting the kitchen team with the cleaning and organisation of equipment and supplies.
• Ensuring clean crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment are available when needed.
• Assisting with waste management and recycling in line with hotel procedures.
• Following food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Working closely with the kitchen team to keep service running smoothly, especially during busy periods.
